today, 31 July 2025 visited this place again.
Food were delicious. service was great, staff were friendly. i accidentally dropped my chopstick. when i want ro ask for a pair of chopsticks, the service staff already had it and brought it to my table. thank you for making my dinner at Bornga really an enjoyable one :)
below review left in 2020:
The tofu soup was very nice but service could be improved greatly given the price of the food. I waited for at least 10mins at the entrance with the cashier and wait staff looked at me without any acknowledgement. I just stood there and waited. After I was seated, it took a long time for me to get a staff to place my order. If I am given the same service the next time I visit, I will spend my money somewhere else.
The worst Korean food I ever eaten in years. The banchan selection is the worst I ever seen. The beef prime rib and bottom sirloin triangle were of poor quality, tough meat with no fats and comes with sinew.
It is also terribly overcooked with many charred and bitter bits
It seems like the brand have cheapen themselves with poor quality meat and staff that doesn’t know how to cook. It is evident with the poor crowd.
Only the veg selection and the sesame oil is good.
Will not visit ever again.
I like the interior of the Korean restaurant, it makes you feel like an authentic Korean restaurant. Most of the food was tasty, but only certain dishes are delicious. Their pancake was very well made despite the semblance of an omelet pancake. Their side dishes were unique, and refillable nonetheless! The service staff is a little short-handed and could be a little more attentive. An understandable price for a restaurant in a popular mall though!
Was served complimentary barley tea and side dishes upon ordering. For a Korean restaurant, their kimchi was average at best. Japchae was delightfully tasty and chewy and the tteokbokki was great too. Kimchi jjigae was too sour for our liking, would not recommend.
Was in Vivo City for shopping and this restaurant caught our attention 😋
The food are nice but a bit costly….
Ventilations require some work as we smelt like BBQ pork when we walked out of the restaurant.
A male staff (tall, funky hair, wearing glasses) was seen scolding a female staff near the kitchen…. Dun think is right to do that when we all can hear him loud and clear. He put the female staff at a bad spot too.
did not opt for bbq here and ordered steamed egg, seafood pancake and gochujang pork.
steamed egg/gyeran-jjim - not fluffy at all. there were grainy bits inside, told the service staff and got a new one without the grainy bits but still not fluffy
seafood pancake/haemul pa jeon - not crispy, more like omelette
gochujang pork/dwaeji - good, enjoyed this!
considering the prices here not cheap, had higher expectations and was disappointed.
wet tissue cost $1 each. meal side dishes and water foc.
First time having Korean bbq foods 😋 yummy, we ordered 2 lunch set lunch and 2pork and 1 chicken for bbq, with rice and heaps of lettuce for wrapping the porks and chicken bbq. The side dishes have all kinds of kimchi tastes fantastic. Highly recommended this place, services which very good. Restaurant atmosphere quiet and nice cooling, I'm very happy having my lunch with family.
I recently dined at Bornga VivoCity, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for both casual meals and special occasions.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. I tried the signature Korean barbecue, and each dish was bursting with flavor. The marinated meats were tender and juicy, and the side dishes complemented the main course perfectly. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations that enhanced our meal.
The restaurant also has a fantastic selection of drinks, including traditional Korean options that paired wonderfully with our food.
Overall, Bornga VivoCity exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Korean dining experience!
Korean BBQ as I like it. If you have eaten at Bornga in other countries this is the same. For me this is exactly how I like an Korean BBQ to be. You can choose set’s with different kinds of meat. Or pick out the ones you like. You get all the add ons here, it’s all included. Salad leaves, garlic, sauces, kimchi etc.
As an added bonus you can choose to sit by the water.
Best is their marinated short rib beef. Their free side dishes come in many different varieties. Staff are very hardworking and polite. Our family has always been served by a very friendly Vietnamese waitress. Prices are reasonable and affordable. Must try!
