I came to strawberry shortcake late in life, but now they are one of my favourite cakes. The strawberry shortcake here is ok. Fluffy sponge, nicely sweetened cream (a little to heavy for me), and nice looking strawberries (a little too tart for liking).
Nice to have cake and coffee while watching the hustle and bustle of a busy centre
Bad thing about Henri Charpentier is that you'll need to order at least an item per person. And there's limited seating, with the high chairs being on the uncomfortable side.
However, their blackforest cake is pretty decent. And their cheesecake isn't bad either. The blackforest cake is moist and has enough flavour from the sponge and the blueberries, though no rum flavour in it. Icing is a tad sweet, but still acceptable.
The cheesecake is alright, with the cheese not being too thick or dense, but not light and fluffy either. Maybe they could make the base of the cheesecake a little thicker or crunchier.
The only thing I'll really say sucks is the limited seating and the uncomfortable high chairs facing the crowd. Otherwise, it's on the pricey side, so I definitely wouldn't be a regular here (cakes aren't nice enough to pull me back).
The 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐫 is truly a culinary masterpiece—we absolutely 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 them! The moment we stepped in, the aroma of fresh baking filled the air, and my boys devoured them in a flash! 😆 Lucky for me, they let me sneak a small bite of each. 😂
Besides the 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 and 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, don't miss out on their freshly made (not frozen) cakes: ❤️
💛 The shortcake 🍰—a hit with Kengie
🧡 Sachertorte (Vienna Chocolate Cake)—Kaydee's fave
💛 Double Cheesecake—extra light and creamy, made with rare cheeses 🧀
🧡 🆕 Tiramisu (non-alcoholic) —also a must-try!
Pair these treats with your choice of hot or cold drinks, and you've got a perfect day out. I can already foresee my boys asking for a return visit soon! 😄
Friendly staffs too! Good recommendations 👍
It is definitely not cheap for a piece of chocolate financier but the quality and taste make it easier to stomach. I ordered a cafe latte to complete the meal. Overall experience is it is a nice place to chill and have some quality pastries. The coffee is average. The service staffs are friendly. I am comfortable with this kind of cafe. It offers me a place to chill without being overly distracted by overly zealous staffs. It is a good place for people watching.
One of the way to visit sentosa island. You need to pay 4$ per person, and the return trip is free. Its located in the 4th floor of the mall. You can also bought attraction tickets for sentosa in this station
♿️ easy access to lifts via wheelchair.
One of the busiest and largest MRT interchanges. Connect to circle and north east lines from here. Also attached to the excellent vivocity mall.
Good shuttle and service but I think it can be cheaper than $4 per person (one day all you can ride in the island) since my family really needed just one stop to Universal Studios. Next time I would consider bus option.
It costs 4 sgd to use the sentosa express and returning Is free. The station is the top floor of the Vivo city mall. It wasn't busy when we went at midday on a Friday. Only takes a few minutes to get to universal studies which is the first stop. You can 0ay using your ezlink card, debit/credit it get a ticket from the ticket office.
Very efficient public transit station. You can buy a ticket at the ticketing counter using just about any method of payment, or if you have an EZ-Link card you can just walk directly to the turnstiles and tap there. You do not need to tap off once you reach any station in Sentosa - the rate is the same regardless of which stop you reach.
