Ya Kun Kaya Toast has become synonymous with the quintessential Singaporean breakfast experience, serving traditional kopitiam fare that connects modern diners with the nation's coffee shop heritage. Located at Level B2-26 of VivoCity, this beloved establishment continues a legacy that began decades ago, when Ya Kun's signature kaya recipe first won over locals with its perfect balance of coconut, eggs, and pandan fragrance. The menu centres on humble yet deeply satisfying offerings - fragrant kaya generously slathered on crispy toast, perfectly cooked soft-boiled eggs, and robust coffee and tea prepared the traditional way. This simple combination has transcended its modest origins to become an iconic meal that both comfort-seeking Singaporeans and curious visitors seek out.
The dining experience at Ya Kun celebrates time-honoured preparation methods and authentic flavours. The signature kaya toast arrives golden and crisp, with the greenish coconut jam providing a sweet complement to thick butter. Accompanying soft-boiled eggs, cooked to precise doneness, are meant to be seasoned with soy sauce and white pepper, then mixed for dipping the toast. Beyond the classic set, the menu includes variations like French toast and cheese toast, kaya butter crackers offering the same beloved spread on a different base, and freshly made cheese balls crafted without preservatives. The muffin selection features three flavours - Fudgie Chocolate, Banana Walnut, and Orange Chocolate - all baked daily. Guests can order items individually or as value sets combining toast, eggs, and coffee.
Ya Kun's presence at VivoCity makes traditional Singaporean breakfast accessible to the shopping mall's diverse crowd, from early morning commuters grabbing a quick meal to afternoon shoppers seeking an authentic local snack. The consistent quality and familiar tastes provide reassurance in an increasingly modernized food landscape, while introducing international visitors to Singapore's coffee shop culture. Whether starting the day with the classic kaya toast set or enjoying it as an afternoon treat, diners at Ya Kun experience more than a meal - they participate in a cherished ritual that has sustained Singaporeans for generations, now conveniently available in the heart of HarbourFront.

Ordered 2 coffees on takeaway. Guy brewing got the order wrong (he passed me the coffee and said out the combo), but when I repeated the right order, he tells me he did it correct. Sudai not sudai. Dilok like water. Horrible guy and horrible coffee. I went in search of Ya Kun here for their coffee standard. Very disappointing!

A typical Ya Kun outlet. Food was quite nice although a bit expensive.
Ordered 2 sets that comes with a drink, egg and toast (costed $6 per set). But the price is kinda expected with the high rent at VivoCity.
Used app to order. Staff was friendly and nice. A bit crowded and slightly squeezed when I came but managed to get a seat.
Will come again if there is any promotion.

We had our breakfast here before going to Sentosa. The place was crowded, and it was a busy atmosphere. Finding an available table, especially for a group of five such as ours, was not easy, Each table has four chairs, and so we had to get an extra chair. Their toasts were served hot, as well as the soft-boiled eggs. Sugar for the coffee was pre-mixed; it was too sweet for my taste. The staff was very friendly.

Ordered the Kaya Toast Set. Ordering and payment were fast and smooth, but the food took a while to be prepared and I had to wait for a bit. The toast was alright, but it felt a little too heavy after the meal.

This branch is super huge but crowded as well. New branch just beside NTUC.
Coffee, tea, toast and eggs maintain Yakun's standard.
Seating is a bit close together.
Good for a quick drink.
