VietSmith reimagines Vietnamese cuisine with a contemporary edge that sets it apart from traditional pho houses at VivoCity. Operated by Minor Food Singapore, the restaurant transports diners straight to Saigon's vibrant streets while maintaining the polished comfort of a modern food court setting. The menu balances authentic Vietnamese flavors with creative presentations that appeal to both purists seeking classic comfort and adventurous eaters looking for fresh interpretations of familiar dishes. This approach has carved out a distinct niche in HarbourFront's competitive dining scene, where casual Vietnamese food often defaults to formulaic offerings.
The star attraction remains their signature beef pho, where noodles swim in broth that's been patiently simmered for hours to achieve deep, complex flavors. Choose from Sliced Beef with Beef Meatball or the richer Oxtail variation for those seeking more indulgent options, while the Poached Shredded Chicken with Homemade Chicken Meatball offers a lighter alternative. Beyond soups, the street food bites menu delivers authentic Saigon snacking experiences through Fresh Spring Rolls with Shrimp, crispy Vietnamese pancakes, and playful options like Grilled Quail Egg with Minced Chicken Pancake and Savoury Prawn & Coconut Mini Pancakes. The Grilled Chicken Dry Vermicelli rounds out the offerings for diners who prefer noodles without broth, tossed with aromatic herbs and nuoc cham dressing.
Pricing sits comfortably in the mid-range sweet spot, with main pho bowls around 5.90 to 8.90 and appetizers hovering near .90 to 4.90, delivering solid value for the quality and portion sizes. The kitchen doesn't rush the cooking process, which occasionally means slightly longer waits during peak lunch and dinner rushes, but the patience pays off in dishes that actually taste like they're made with care rather than assembly-line efficiency. Whether you're grabbing a quick solo meal before catching the Sentosa Express or settling in for a leisurely group dining session, VietSmith proves that food court Vietnamese cuisine can transcend its humble setting when executed with genuine attention to craft.

The taste is generally good but found that the tendon and stomach too big a piece esp the stomach difficult to bite into small pieces. Had to ask for scissors to cut it up. Would be nicer if the soup is a little hotter

Amazing Pho, very flavourful and delicious 🍲 The service was very quick, I recieved my food less than 10 minutes after ordering. 👍 The atmosphere and interior is very pleasant to the eye and the music is also not too loud, calming i would say 🎶. Would recommend to visit with family or date night 📆

🍽️ Vietnamese Vibes Tonight at VietSmith, VivoCity! 🇻🇳
Decided to take our taste buds on a little trip to Vietnam — no passport needed, just good vibes and great food! 😋✨
Here’s what we dug into:
🥭 Mango Salad (芒果沙拉) – Fresh, tangy, and oh-so-refreshing. The perfect starter to wake the appetite!
🥤 Iced Vietnamese Lime Soda (Soda Chanh 冰越南酸柑水) – Fizzy, zesty, and super refreshing. Like sunshine in a glass! 🌞
🍵 Homemade Hot Vietnamese Tea (热越南茶) – Simple, soothing, and just the right sip between bites.
🔥 Sizzling Pan Grilled Beef Steak with Mushroom Sauce (铁板牛扒配蘑菇酱) – Served on a hot plate, this juicy steak was sizzling, tender, and bursting with umami!
🍚 Added on Viet Rice (越南饭) to soak up all that delicious mushroom sauce — no regrets! 😍
If you’re around VivoCity and craving something hearty and unique, give VietSmith a go!

May 2025, the initial dining experience was satisfactory, with all the food we ordered being good. Tasty but not salty and overwhelming.
The Beef Broth was good, flavourful enough to our liking, and not too salty.
The fried rice, too, was good. Delicious.
The chicken vermicelli was good, although it was served cold, which was not to my liking. It tasted and felt reheated, which I don't mind. It's just that it was not warm and soft enough. But taste wise, overall, it was acceptable and still recommendable.
The serving size was enough. It's big enough to be shared. Price wise, it was reasonable. GST and service charges are to be included in the final bill.
Ordering is through QR code. Payment is at the counter. Wet tissues are with a fee. I am not sure if they provide serviettes. Maybe not.
Service was kind of lousy, though, and definitelylacked assertion. We came on a less busy day and hour and the staff were like avoiding our gaze.
Overall, it's still recommendable.

The pho was really very good. Broth was tasty, sweet, full of umami. Succulant pieces of meat. Bahn mi was also yummy - didnt even have time to take a pic before we devoured it. Service staff was attentive. Nice place for a weekdy date.
