Imperial Hot Pot at Food Republic in VivoCity delivers an authentic hot pot experience in a casual, accessible setting that celebrates this beloved Asian communal dining tradition. Located on the third floor of Singapore's largest waterfront shopping mall, this establishment offers diners the opportunity to customize their steamboat journey from soup base to ingredients, creating a personalized meal that caters to individual tastes and preferences. The restaurant's strategic position within Food Republic makes it an ideal choice for groups with varying culinary interests, as the food court setting accommodates diverse dining preferences while still offering the interactive hot pot experience.
The menu spans traditional Chinese hot pot styles to Japanese-inspired shabu-shabu variations, giving diners flexibility in how they approach their meal. Soup bases form the foundation of the experience, with options likely including classic chicken broth, spicy Sichuan varieties, and lighter Japanese-style bases. From there, customers build their bowls with selections from fresh vegetables, premium sliced meats, seafood, handmade meatballs, tofu varieties, and noodles. The beauty of hot pot dining lies in its interactive nature—diners cook ingredients tableside in simmering broths, controlling cooking times to achieve their preferred textures while engaging in conversation and shared experience. This communal aspect makes Imperial Hot Pot particularly popular among families, friend groups, and colleagues seeking a meal that combines good food with social connection.
Situated at Food Republic on Level 3 of VivoCity at 1 Harbourfront Walk, Imperial Hot Pot serves as a convenient dining option for shoppers, nearby office workers, and visitors heading to or from Sentosa Island via the connected Sentosa Express monorail. The food court location offers practical advantages including flexible operating hours aligned with mall traffic, competitive pricing compared to standalone restaurants, and the convenience of being part of a larger dining ecosystem. Whether grabbing a quick hot pot lunch or settling in for a leisurely dinner, diners appreciate having quality steamboat options in an unpretentious environment that prioritizes flavor and value.

staff had a bad attitude taking orders and the soup was mediocre.
soup ingredients were not even standardised. my friend only had 1 small mushroom and i had 5... but he had alot of the menu stated "wild monkeyhead mushrooms" and i had none???
vege was the worse of all. a few pieces of vege for 3.50...
worse soup stall ever.. just here for the damn seats..

Aside from having only small portion of chicken, the issue is with the fish maw being very hard. It should be cooked for awhile to make it a little tender and edible. For my case, I just saw the person serving the soup literally just place the fish maw into the soup seconds before serving directly to me. Quite disappointing on such a brand.

Ordered a mala crayfish that the person said is enough for 2-3 people but was very little portion, especially for $30

Definitely not expensive, but the food is really bad. Especially the beef very fishy...... we just finished the vegetables. two different order made use the same soup. I think just because there’s crowded in food republic. so they will have business. or else there won’t be any regular customers back for their food.

One of the worst mala xiang guo I've tasted.

Not bad siah! The clearest price list for Mala that I’ve ever seen trust me. No more getting charged as ‘meat’ for lotus root wth. And look at the price, it’s fine right? Harbourfront leh $8.60, even some random out of the way neighbourhood store also don’t have such price. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: TASTES GOOD. Not supers but definitely passing and above. Better than half of the stores out there at least. That’s great to me alr.

Imperial hot pot with Mala spices, noodles , chicken and veg was excellent. Enjoyed the food

Nice soups, especially the herbal soups. The pig stomach and fish maw soup needs a bit more pepper. But overall good soups. You may get one top up for your soup. The Taiwanese pork trotters are tasty too.

Where do you start? Unintwrested staff at the counter was not keen to even assist us in starting an order or seating us. Bad sign, should have walked away then. Then had double cooked pork, which was basically bacon fat put with some nuts and onion I'm guessing. Bland at best. Rice was actually the highlight.
Also had stir fried beef. This is not like the picture. Maybe 3 small slices of carrot, coupke of greens and nuts. Lots of meat, of vwry poor quality, was hard to swallow literally. Lack of airconditioning and low level of cleaning at the tables meant for a poor experience. Only gave 2 stars for food as it was basically food even though not good food. Definitel would avoid and take your time to check other options at another venue.

Second time here for their MLXG after visiting sentosa island. Price wise isn’t that cheap but we ordered a lot of meat so I guess that’s fine. The overall flavor is quite good (中辣) and I love the fact that they are generous with the crunchy peanuts.
