**If you are considering any EX Style outlets, please read.** So I went to EX Style tampines for a haircut under Yvonne, and was convinced to buy a 1x "soft rebonding". Here I was promised: - would be good for my hair & tame it - my hair wouldn't be straightened at all. (which, as I am leaving this review, have just realised I was charged for antho rebonding NOT soft rebonding.. feels cheated but whatever, since it still serves the purpose mentioned.) When I came to EX Style vivo, I was handed over to Miwako who told me that actually— soft rebonding still DOES straighten my hair, just not as straight as a full rebond, which she would advise against as I wouldn't suit straight hair. Instead, she could do a different service for me which would keep more of my natural waves, but that would require a $50 top up. (Receipt didn't specify what the added service was though) No complaints for Miwako I guess... since my haircut turned out okay– other than my hair being rather straight still. Just found it pretty disappointing that the salon wasn't transparent enough with the services, especially when I've repeatedly expressed my dislike for straight hair. I can look past all the non-transparency presented thus far, but what frustrated me enough to write this review is the assistant's work on my hair. In the process of my rebonding, one side was done by Miwako and the other was done by an assistant. The side done by the assistant was obviously, not of standard and left many messy and stubborn ends on half my head of hair. (refer to pictures) In the past month, I have had my hair snap and tangle pretty often on that side of my hair +++ some of them seem pretty damaged. (refer to close up pictures of hair) My hair doesn't even get tangled much in it's naturally wavy state, shouldn't it get tangled less when it's straight? 🫠 That side of my hair was also straightened in a way it pokes out the sides, looking pretty messy and unpleasant. Unfortunately, I failed to realise it at the salon itself, so I did not have the chance to speak to them about it before leaving. At the price paid, never mind the bad experience, but to have my hair damaged? It's quite ridiculous. I was also charged $50 for a bottle of shampoo & conditioner EACH, which I also wasn't pre-empt about... Again, non-transparency with pricing. tldr; not transparent with pricing and services provided + hair damaged by inexperienced assistant
