SkyHelix Sentosa Review: A Decent Experience, But Not for Thrill-Seekers
We visited SkyHelix Sentosa in the morning, hoping for something fun or unique, but left feeling a bit underwhelmed.
The experience involves sitting in a parachute-like open-air gondola that slowly ascends into the sky and gently rotates to offer a 360° view of Sentosa. It lasts about 10-15 minutes. During that time, an instructor gives a short introduction and tries to entertain the group, which was nice, but thereâs only so much you can do in that span, especially when the ride itself is very passive.
This is not a ride or anything adventurous. Thereâs no adrenaline rush, no surprises, just a slow ascent, a calm view, and a slow descent. The view in the morning was okay, but not particularly spectacular. Maybe a sunset or night session would be better for photography or ambiance.
That said, this attraction is suitable for people who arenât into adventure or thrill rides and are just looking for a mild, scenic experience. It's peaceful and easy, making it ideal for families with young kids or older folks who want a simple, elevated view of the island.
Overall, itâs a decent, short activity, but if you're someone looking for excitement, SkyHelix probably won't deliver that.
Very fun and easy ride! Very nice view to see the whole of Sentosa. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable guide THILA đ Highly recommend this activity đ¤đź âŚ
My experience was so incredible since I was the only one in that ride. I was so happy that i get to feel the moment alone. Aira was my host and she was kind and hospitable. She really love to entertain her guests while making sure they get to take their time feel and appreciate the view. I commend her for that. Kudos to this wonderful experience. Thanks also to Aira for sharing me this photo and taking videos of me. Salamat! đŤśđŤśđŤśđŤśđŤś
We happen to go there by chance as I had bought ticket of two in one while buying Universal studios and Cable car ticket. This experience was free included in that.
Initially we thought it to be be some gravity drop free fall ride which I avoid. The team told it will be a smooth ride.
Group of participants sit all around and host which keeps you comfortable with talks and your photos during the journey. My kid was along and that's why wife was little worried throughout the journey.
We stayed in air I guess 80 metres height viewing all around sceneries and was relaxing experience unless if you think of all the bad that could happen.
Fortunately company was also good. Indian family was nearby and we had good discussion about Pakistan India cricket, movies, dramas etc.
Overall one time visiting experience which everyone if get a chance should take.
You can take cold drinks or drink and place it is specific holders inside.
Direct tickets are also available. Very near to luge.
âââââ 5âStar Ride at SkyHelix Sentosa â A SkyâHigh Treat for Families!
Our family had an absolutely magical time aboard SkyHelix Sentosa, a scenic openâair gondola ride soaring up to 79âŻmetres above sea level, offering uninterrupted 360° views of Sentosa, Keppel Bay and the Southern Islands ďżź.
From the moment we stepped in, the thrill set inânot only do your feet dangle freely, but thereâs a gentle spiral motion to the ascent and descent that lasts about 12 minutes, with roughly 10 minutes at the peak soaking up the views and breeze ďżź. The fresh sea air, cool wind in the hair, and the serene panorama made for incredible family selfies at sunset.
Each ticket included a complimentary nonâalcoholic drink or souvenir, and our family happily chose drinksâmocktails crafted by the Dusk Bar team that were tasty, refreshing, and a fun perk to enjoy midâair ďżź. A snack bar onsite also offered pastries, juices, and light bites if you want something extra before your flight ďżź.
Our ride host was warm, engaging, and even helped us take photos while pointing out landmarksânot to mention cracking a few jokes to keep the mood light and fun (). The entire experience felt effortlessâfrom photo ops to boarding, we felt wellâlooked after.
A few important notes:
⢠While the ride is familyâfriendly, thereâs a height minimum (1.05âŻm) and young children must be accompanied by an adult ďżź.
⢠Lines can get long during peak times and line management could be smootherâonline booking is a smart way to skip the queue ďżź.
⢠On particularly windy days, avoid loose items like hats or selfie sticksâand remember to secure your camera wrist strap or phone ďżź.
⸝
đ Highlights:
⢠Mesmerizing 360° views at 79âŻm elevationâcity, sea, islands and jungle all in one sweeping glance.
⢠Familyâfriendly experience with safety, snacks, souvenirs, and hosts who make it truly engaging.
⢠Evening rides lit up with LED lights add extra sparkle to Sentosaâs skyline postâsunset ďżź ďżź.
đ Minor Quirks:
⢠Occasional long waits if you havenât pre-bookedâline management could use improvement.
⢠Seating arrangement faces inward so neckâtwisting is needed to catch the best views (some reviewers found this awkward) ().

Overall Rating: 5 stars
This is a captivating little adventure perfect for families, friends or couples wanting a memorable aerial perspective of Sentosa. With its smooth ride, scenic views, helpful hosts, and fun beverage perk, SkyHelix is a delightful highlight on the island. Weâll definitely go againâespecially at golden hour!
Went at around 6:15.
Enjoyed the late afternoon golden yellow skies and was blasted cool breezes. The whole ride was 12 minutes long and the rotating platform gave us panoramic views of the CBD, Harbourfront and the Singapore Strait
Shoutout to our host Khai who was friendly and informative. He helped us snap some
Scenic group photos too!
Disclaimer: it can get pretty windy, so beware of your belongings. Also, donât look down if afraid of heights.
Kudos to Mythlli, our host!
Thank you so much for your hospitalityâeverything was absolutely wonderful. Thank you for being such an engaging and knowledgeable host. Your passion and energy truly brought the experience to life and made the visit memorable. Itâs clear you care deeply about what you do, and it made a big difference in how we connected with the place.
Nearly missed the last ride as we spent the day at Universal Studios. Had a combined ticket with the Cable car, US and the Helix. Worth the trip up for a magnificent site. Not for the faint hearted though.
Went to SkyHelix Sentosa the other day not gonna lie, it was kinda underwhelming. The view was nice, especially around sunset, but the ride itself was super slow and over in like 10 minutes. They give you a drink, which is cute, but itâs basically just sitting and spinning slowly in the sky.
Honestly, itâs more for the photos than the experience. If youâre expecting something exciting or high up, itâs not really that. But if you just wanna chill and take some aesthetic pics, then yeah, not bad.
