I used to be quite concerned about the low star reviews, because everyone was talking about some grumpy old auntie, and today I finally got what the reviews meant. I said I would pay w paywave, and I was patiently waiting for her to key into the machine. I think she said under her breath to tap, even while she was using the machine. At that point in time I chose to wait because if I tapped while she was fiddling with it there could be payment issues… Then when I didn’t tap immediately, she raised her voice and say TAP!! and then rolled her eyes, shook her head and said aiyo in an exasperated tone. Truly, all I wanted to do was buy my bread. When it’s my turn to grow old, I aim to never become someone as bitter and impatient as her.

Service is disappointing. The cashier staff handles bread super unwillingly like the bread offended her, and I got the choc belgian waffle, so the top of my carrier just got covered with chocolatey prints. (I can only hope they came from the bread and not somewhere else) 🙂
And she proceeds to throw my receipts unceremoniously at me. Didn't manage to close my fingers around them, so of course they fell to the floor.
Good luck surviving beside Gokoku 🙂

I would like to share some feedback about an experience I had at your VivoCity branch.
While we were selecting bread, my daughter briefly opened one of the bread covers as she already decided which bread to buy. She was simply waiting for me to walk over to assist her, and she did not touch any of the bread. I was less than five seconds away from her.
However, one of your young female staff walked over and spoke to my daughter loudly, telling her not to open the cover. The tone used was quite harsh. But as customers, we do need to open the covers and purchase the bread. It is a normal part of the buying process.

Pls take note, your kitchen egg wash brush bristle came off and stuck on the bread. Can you check the brush and dispose. I ate half the boulangerie chande already found 2 brush bristles.

Stale ass whipped cream strawberry choux, looked fantastic in the display but disgusting at first bite. Strawberries were rotting. I even got 2! But never again 🙂
Food should be made in small batches to be completely sold out. Stale food (with fruit no less) is seriously revolting.

Always buy in the morning! Fresh bake and good taste. Recommend pork jerky & floss bun. Auntie’s service today still is in a standard like usually does. Cake price is reasonable.

We visited Yamazaki bakery at VivoCity last weekend and were impressed by the variety and quality of their baked products. They have a wide range of breads, cakes, pastries, and confectioneries that are fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The bakery is located at the basement level of VivoCity somewhere between the supermarket and food court. It is easy to find and I would definitely recommend Yamazaki bakery to anyone who loves Japanese-style bakery products. They have something for everyone, whether you prefer sweet or savory, soft or crunchy, simple or fancy.

I like the breads here. The breads are soft and fresh.
I think it is the same as four leaves just that different brand in here. Found a lot of similar breads as they sale here.
Cashier was a bit slow compared to other stores. The transaction could have been faster. The system could have been integrated with the payment terminal rather than key manually the amount to the terminal.
Credit card payment is accepted here along with grabpay as well.

Not sure why the ratings for this bakery is so low or why reviewers complain about bad service. Throughout the years I have frequented this small bakery, the service have been very kind, efficient and friendly. I recently got the strawberry cream puff and apple custard pastry and the staff very patiently packed every thing neatly despite the snaking weekend queues. Kudos to the aunties and bakers working tirelessly to make such delicious affordable treats!
The cream puff was light and airy. There was a layer of smooth custard under the cream. Cream was rather sweet but paired with the choux puff was a delightful and refreshing treat. Apple custard pie had 3 large chunks of juicy apples sitting atop custard. This is my go - to pastry! Love it and highly recommend!
Have bought several times from this shop. I believe they are from the same parent group - Four leaves that has many branches around Singapore. Service staff was efficient and friendly. Despite the small space and long queues from tourists and locals aside, they still pack the breads quickly and with no fuss.
Wide variety of breads and small confectioneries at very affordable prices. Love their Okinawa brown sugar cakes that taste a little like Chinese huat Kueh with a slightly chewy caramlized texture. The chocolate muffin is also delicious with huge chunks of semi sweet choc chips on top.
I recently bought the cranberry scone and apple Danish. Apple Danish was delicious, large juicy pieces of apples, make for a delicious treat in hot and humid Singapore :)
