Maybe I had read tons of reviews that was singing its praises, and recommendation from some online platform, had some expectations, but was disappointed. Is it because of different branches? I find the food so so. Nothing fabulous for the 油饭 and 卤味。 The 油饭and卤味 had no flavour, just saltiness. Not too bad to fill stomach. The only food I like is the dessert, on sweeter side but quite flavourful. Oh the chili on the table and the 卤蛋was consider good. I was very hungry and eager when I came in too. PS. Need to retrain some of the staff. Saw one of the server was picking his back teeth while he was cutting cross the table and walking towards the entrance to wait for walk in customers.

We had been eager to try this Michelin-awarded restaurant during our trip to Taiwan but didn’t get the chance. So when we spotted its Singapore branch at Vivocity, we were excited to finally give it a try. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the expectations we had for a Michelin-recognized spot. Here’s what we ordered: Three-Cup Chicken – Flavorful, but lacking that standout “wow” factor. Braised Pork Rice – It was okay, though we’ve definitely had better renditions elsewhere in Singapore. Pork appetiser - parts of pork which was braised and nothing fanciful. Spring Onion Noodles – The most disappointing dish. It was essentially plain noodles with just a sprinkling of spring onions and fried shallots—bland and overpriced for something so basic. Spicy Chili Soup – Surprisingly good! Bold, spicy, and hit all the right notes for us. Overall, I probably wouldn’t return anytime soon unless for all these at more than $80 Singapore dollar unless there’s a promotion or perhaps a dish we missed during this visit that’s worth trying.

Dropped by this restaurant earlier this afternoon. While we were looking forward to the meal, the overall dining experience didn’t quite meet expectations in terms of food quality and service. The Cordyceps Flower Chicken Soup, Signature Fried Rice and the Taiwanese Salty Chicken was acceptable. Nothing outstanding, but decent overall. The Shredded Chicken Vermicelli Soup had hot vermicelli, but the soup itself was lukewarm. The shredded chicken had an odd taste, which made the dish less enjoyable The Fish Maw and Cabbage in Golden Broth was disappointing due to a strong stale oil taste that overwhelmed the flavors. I would not recommend this dish. Hopefully, the kitchen can improve the food quality and the staff can enhance their service to match the restaurant’s potential.

The braised items were cooked very well – especially the pig skin, which was tender and nicely cut. However, the tofu had a flavour reminiscent of fish cake. The mee suah soup was fragrant and pleasantly soupy, and the Chinese cabbage was cooked until perfectly soft.
