We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Oracle database systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle database software and related components.
- Administer and support production databases with 24/7 availability and monitoring.
- Collaborate with AWS teams to ensure databases are patched and updated regularly.
- Monitor database health and troubleshoot system issues to maintain stability.
- Design and assess Oracle database schemas.
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues through query optimization and SQL tuning.
- Conduct daily performance analysis and recommend improvement strategies.
- Implement indexing, partitioning, and other performance-enhancing techniques.
- Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and duplication strategies.
- Perform recovery testing to validate data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Conduct database restorations and support application-specific recovery requests.
- Manage user access, roles, and data encryption to ensure database security.
- Conduct regular audits and apply security patches promptly.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external data protection standards.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to design scalable database solutions.
- Develop and maintain schemas, tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
- Provide database support for new project implementations.
- Write scripts to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Deploy monitoring tools and automation for proactive database management.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with development, system, and network teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
- Participate in planning meetings and provide database expertise and guidance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Database Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Oracle DBA or 5 years of experience for other mainstream database.
- Strong proficiency in Oracle Database versions (e.g., 11g, 12c, 19c) and Oracle AWS RDS.
- Expertise in Oracle tools such as RMAN, Data Guard, OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager), and PL/SQL.
- Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
