CLOUD OPERATIONS ENGINEER

About the Role:

We are seeking a Cloud Operation Engineer to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical on-premises infrastructure supporting government systems. This role offers hands-on exposure to enterprise platforms, automation, and modern operational practices, while contributing to infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Salary package: $8800 (basic) + AWS

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain compute, storage, virtualisation, and supporting systems across dev, staging, and production environments.
• Manage virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), including capacity planning, optimisation, and lifecycle management
• Implement automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern operational practices
• Deploy and maintain monitoring and observability solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Execute patching, upgrades, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
• Provide L2/L3 support, including incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Support containerisation and orchestration platforms where applicable.
• Enforce security controls, access management, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with application teams to ensure platform performance, stability, and scalability.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and SOPs, and support knowledge sharing within the team.
• Maintain backup, DR, and high-availability solutions for critical platform components

Requirement:

• 3+ years of relevant working experience, preferably with exposure to AWS cloud environments.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) consept and automation tools
• Background as a System Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer (hands-on infrastructure operations)
• Experience planning and executing patching and upgrade strategies to ensure system security and stability
