Established in 1996, Life Community Services Society is a mid-sized social service agency serving children and youth from low-resourced, vulnerable and at-risk backgrounds. Responsibilities
We are looking for a dedicated Caseworker to join our MightyKids, Families & Community programme team, where we work to support and uplift children and youth from low-income, underserved, vulnerable and at-risk families in the Telok Blangah community. - Casework management to support the children, youth, and caregivers. This may include intake and referral, psycho-social assessment, client engagement, goal setting, intervention planning and regular reviews.
- Manage engagement with parents and caregivers, including conducting intake assessment, home visits and maintaining regular communication through various platforms.
- Conduct group work; plan and facilitate activities or events for the children and youth to support their holistic development.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to provide holistic support to the children and families. This involves participating in discussions and case conferences with community partners such as the Family Service Centres, schools and the Social Service Office.
- Stakeholder management, including engagement and coordination with volunteers and corporate partners, to harness their continued support for the Programme.
- Maintain clear and updated administrative records, such as case notes, meeting minutes, attendance and event records.
- Assist in analysing trends and assessing needs of the community and target clients.
- Centre maintenance, to contribute to regular upkeep of the Programme’s premises, to build a clean and safe space for the children and youth.
- Any other duties assigned by the Programme Manager.
Requirements – Experience & Competencies
- Diploma/ Degree in Social Work/ Psychology/ Counselling or other related discipline.
- At least 3 years of working experience in Social Service Agencies, especially in children and youth work, will be an added advantage.
- Keen interest in working with children and youth.
- People-oriented, good interpersonal and communication skills, able to collaborate with parents, caregivers,volunteers, and other stakeholders such as community partners.
- Strong team player, proactive, with strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Teachable heart and willing to embrace new learning opportunities.
- Willingness to work on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings (as needed).
